I'd like to share something really exciting that happened recently. Many of you may already know, but this is something I can't help being proud of.
On October 30, 2025, the GeForce Gamer Festival was held at COEX K-Pop Square in Seoul. On that day, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang went up on stage and, unexpectedly, mentioned our restaurant, 99 Chicken.
He said something along the lines of:
"My favorite chicken in the United States is Korean chicken, and it's 99 Chicken in Silicon Valley."
At first, he even read the number 99 in Korean, calling us "Goo-Goo Chicken," and then explained again by saying,
"Ninety Nine Chicken in Silicon Valley, that's my favorite place."
He also asked the audience with a smile,
"Saying '99' as 'gu-gu' in Korean is correct, right?"
After that, here in Silicon Valley, when people talk about "Jensen Huang's favorite chicken place," more and more of them seem to think of 99 Chicken.
There is another part of this story that surprised me even more. In Samseong-dong, Seoul, at Kkanbu Chicken, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, and Jensen Huang were having chicken and beer together, and once again, our restaurant came up in their conversation.
I heard that Jensen Huang said something like,
"This chicken tastes like 99 Chicken,"
and then asked,
"Have you tried 99 Chicken?"
Chairman Chung reportedly answered that he had tried it, and Chairman Lee also commented that the taste was similar to 99 Chicken.
As the owner, hearing that two of Korea's top business leaders and Jensen Huang mentioned the name of our restaurant together at the same table was truly unbelievable and deeply moving.
For us, the fact that our small neighborhood restaurant was talked about in that setting is a huge joy and something we are very grateful for.
